Don't quite your day job
For a guy who's day job is to help make the Web better, I've got a pretty sad looking website. I spent an hour tonight working on making it somewhat presentable and then realized I was missing one big thing: content.
I built my own blogging library-it's nothing too impressive, really-but I don't have much to blog about. And after an hour of reminding myself how PHP worked (has it been that long since I wrote server-side code?!), I've gotten tired and fell victim to one of my favorite guilty pleasures: playing Christmas music far too early for the season.
Now, if you asked the department stores they would say Christmas began practically when Summer ended. I'm not sure what the "OK" date to start playing Christmas music is. But for me, it's sometime right after Halloween. Largely, that's because I need to practice some of the music before folks start asking me to play it!
So as my first post on this hacked up, not nearly finished web site of mine, I'll leave you with a quick recording I made tonight of me playing Vince Guaraldi's (you know, the guy who wrote all the Charlie Brown songs) take on Oh Tannenbaum.
